FleetServ offers procurement, installation, training, and retrofitting services for a wide variety of effective emission control devices.  One such device is known as the Selective Catalytic Reduction device or SCR. 

A Selective Catalytic Reduction unit, whether installed into diesel engines, gas turbines, or industrial boilers, serves the same beneficial purpose of converting harmful nitrogen oxides into diatomic nitrogen, water, and limited amounts of carbon dioxide.  All of these elements are naturally occurring in the air we breathe and are far less harmful to the air quality than are the usual eminences from diesel engines.

Machines that produce mechanical motion from combustible energy, such as diesel engines do, can greatly benefit from the installation of a Selective Catalytic Reduction system.  But SCRs did not start out as devices meant to clean up the emissions from diesel powered vehicles.

The Selective Catalytic Reduction device has its beginnings in the industrial world with instillations into utility and industrial boilers.  The technology behind SCRs was developed in the late 1950’s as a way to curb the nitrogen oxide emissions from large scale industrial complexes, but the relatively recent adaptations of the device into diesel engines has shown great potential of SCRs to lower the pollutants of large fleet vehicles.

With the addition of Selective Catalytic Reduction devices into the vehicles of their fleet, a company will be able to lower their carbon footprint, far surpass emissions inspections, and boost the responsibility of their corporate actions.  With all of the benefits of SCRs, it is hard to understand why some vehicle fleets operate without them.
