ARB Course #514: The Tractor-Trailer Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Regulation applies to 53-foot or longer box-type trailers and the heavy-duty tractors that pull them. To take advantage of the optional Small Fleet Phase-In schedule, small fleets with 20 or fewer 53-foot or longer box-type trailers, must register by September 1, 2012 and the Large Fleet Phase-In Option 2 has a registration deadline date of June 1, 2012. The Truck and Bus Regulation applies to privately and federally owned diesel trucks and buses that operate in California. Requirements for the regulation began January 1, 2012 and are phased-in annually through January 1, 2023.
