As a fleet owner or fleet manager, EPA and environmental compliance is an important part of your business. SmartWay is a collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight transportation industry that helps fleet operators reduce emissions, improve fuel efficiency and save money. About SmartWay

Launched in 2004, the purpose of the SmartWay program is to improve fuel efficiency and the environmental performance through the reduction of greenhouse gases and air pollution. The program does this by working with all those involved in goods movement supply chain, such as rail carriers, trucking companies, etc., to improve and advance fuel-efficient technologies and operational practices.

The program has more than 3,000 partners, and its partnerships are integral to its overall goal. According to EPA.gov, “EPA helps SmartWay Partners move more goods, more miles with lower emissions and less energy.”

The SmartWay focuses around four areas. These components include:Diesel Emissions Compliance

  • SmartWay Transport Partnership
