The Air Resources Board has a regulation to reduce emissions from existing off-road diesel vehicles used in California in construction, mining, and other industries. The In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation (Off-Road Regulation) requires fleet owners to report to ARB and label their off-road vehicles now, and then requires fleets to reduce the emissions from their older equipment beginning in 2014. Recently, ARB adopted amendments to the Off-Road Regulation that changed the compliance dates, administrative requirements, and also brought both engines on privately-owned, two-engine vehicles with certified auxiliary engines greater than 50 bhp into the Off-Road Regulation, except for street sweepers. Owners of off-road vehicles and/or two-engine vehicles (mentioned above) are strongly encouraged to attend this training.
This course will cover:
• The applicability of the Off-Road Regulation;
• Requirements currently in effect;
• Future compliance deadlines including fleet emission requirements;
• Overview of the Diesel Off-Road Online Reporting System (DOORS).
